How expensive are contact lenses?

Contact lenses come in all different prices, with daily, single-use lenses often costing less than contact lenses with shorter durations. It’s up to you whether you want to spend a little extra money for a longer duration, or whether you’re only looking for a single-use, disposable product.

Here at Crazy Lenses, our contact lenses come in a variety of prices, and our prices are constantly susceptible to change, with new sales and deals like our Multibuy Sale and Expiry Sale making swathes of lenses cheaper. Check out our Sale section for all the best new offers!

Can I get contact lenses with my eye measurements?

Our lenses all vary in measurements. If you look at each individual product page, you’ll see a table displaying the contact’s diameter and base curve. While most of our lenses share an 8.6 base curve, the diameter will often vary. Some lenses, like our Mini Sclera styles, will have a wider diameter to cover a wider section of the eye.

It’s important to always double-check the lens measurements before purchase, and to double-check the measurements of your own eyes, in order to make sure that the contact lenses will fit your eye comfortably.

Can I get contact lenses with my prescription?

At Crazy Lenses, we do not currently provide prescription contact lenses. If you require a specific prescription, we would recommend looking elsewhere for your contact lenses. Contact us if you’d like more information on this.

Why do the lenses look different than I expected?

There are a few reasons why your lenses might look different than what you expected. Some of our lenses are better suited to lighter eyes and will therefore have less of an effect on darker eyes. When browsing on our website, you can check out the product’s Coverage Scale, which will tell you how full-coverage the contact lenses are. If a lens has higher coverage, it is more likely to make a visible impact on your eye colour and give you a satisfactory result.

Can I wear contact lenses if I have dark eyes?

Of course! As we said above, some lenses are less visible than others over dark eyes, so it’s important that you check the Coverage Scale before buying a pair. You can also browse our Lenses for Dark Eyes section, which is full of specifically selected high-pigment lenses that are guaranteed to show up over even the darkest of eyes.

How long can I wear contact lenses for?

Lens wear will depend on your chosen duration. If you purchase one of our single-use daily styles, you may only wear them for 1 day before disposing of them. Our monthly styles can be worn for 30 days, and our 90 Day styles can be worn for 90 days.

PLEASE NOTE: The duration begins from the time you open the contact lens packaging, and refers to consecutive days rather than days of use. For instance, you must dispose of your 30-day lenses exactly a month after opening, regardless of how many times you have worn them.

Important: No matter what, you must never wear any type of lenses for longer than 8 hours at a time. This is to ensure that your eye doesn’t get too dry or irritated.

How long before my contact lenses expire?

The expiry date of your lenses can be found on the top of the packaging. After this date, you MUST NOT wear the lenses, and you can dispose of them immediately.

You should always check the expiry date of your lenses before even opening the box. We strive to ensure that our lenses always have a wide expiry margin, so that you can get as much use out of them as possible, but it’s always good to double-check so that you can plan in advance.

How do I take care of my lenses?

If you’ve never worn contact lenses before, there are a lot of DOs and DON’Ts that you might want to learn. For instance:

  • DO check for damage or debris on your lenses before you even open the packaging.

  • DO handle your lenses with clean hands.

  • DO soak your lenses in eye-safe solution for 2 hours before your first use, and wash them with solution in between uses.

  • DO store your lenses in sterile contact cases.

  • DON’T wear your lenses if they are at all damaged, or if you feel any irritation.

  • DON’T wear your lenses past their expiration date.

  • DON’T wear your lenses for any longer than 8 hours at a time.

Are contact lenses safe for my eyes?

Here at Crazy Lenses, your safety and comfort are our utmost priority. That’s why we only sell lenses made with high-quality materials, FDA-approved and CE-marked. You can be sure that our lenses will never be unsafe for your eyes, provided that you follow the correct care instructions.

Why are my lenses uncomfortable?

If your lenses are causing you discomfort or irritation, it may be for a few different reasons. Check out our Discomfort Troubleshooting guide for a step-by-step guide on what to do.

The main things to check are:

  • Is the lens inserted the right way round?

  • Has the lens been soaked in eye-safe solution for long enough?

  • Is the lens the correct measurements and prescription for your eyes?

  • Is there any damage or debris on the lens?

You can try removing the lenses, washing them carefully with solution, and reinserting them. Blink a couple of times, gently, and allow the lenses to settle in your eyes. If irritation and discomfort persist, we recommend removing the lenses and contacting your optician for advice.

Why aren’t my UV lenses glowing in the dark?

Our UV-Reactive lenses are often purchased by customers looking for glow-in–the-dark lenses. However, UV lenses DO NOT glow in the dark. The term UV-Reactive refers to their responsive pigment, which lights up when in contact with ultraviolet light. In the dark, these lenses will not glow at all. If you’re looking to get a shining result with these lenses, you’ll need to wear them to a blacklight party.

Why can’t I see through my Blind lenses?

Our blind lenses are also a very specific style. As the name suggests, these blind lenses completely cover your vision. It’s important to remember this when you make your plans.

These lenses are perfect for a dead-eyed Halloween costume and will look gorgeous in an indoor photoshoot. However, we would not recommend wearing them out and about, as your vision will be completely impaired. DO NOT wear blind lenses while driving, or doing any other activity that requires clear visibility.
